  • How much do you charge per hour?  We charge $52/per hour
  • Do you offer flat rate packages?  No, at this time we do not.  Once working with your company for a period of time this may be arranged.
  • Can you give me financial advice?  Although I have been in this business for a long time I am at the end of the day a bookkeeper, not an accountant.  Therefore, I feel strongly that any financial or tax planning advice should be given by your accountant.  We are however, happy to work with your accountant.
  • Will you do my corporate taxes?  No, again, we feel this is an accountant's job.  We will however prepare your books to make it easier and quicker for your accountant to prepare, which will save you money as the accountant won't have to do this as well as your taxes.
  • What is Virtual Bookkeeping?  Virtual bookkeeping allows an accountant or bookkeeper to provide accounting services for a client remotely.  It allows a bookkeeper to telecommute instead of physically working at a client's office.  
  • I see that you are located in Calgary, what if I don't live in the same province?  No problem!!  Because we focus on virtual (online) bookkeeping you can literally be anywhere within Canada and we can still help you!!
  • Don't you have to be hands on to do my books?  No, aside from the work location, there is not much difference between regular bookkeeping services and a virtual arrangement.
  • Does it cost extra? No, it does not cost extra.
  • What accounting software do you use?  While we do have experience in Simply Accounting as well as QuickBooks, we solely use QuickBooks.
  • What if I'm currently using a different software?  If you choose to work with us then we will convert your books to QuickBooks.
  • Is there a charge for this?  This charge is included in our hourly rate.
  • I don't currently have any knowledge in QuickBooks software...can you teach me how to use it?  I am a Certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor so yes, I would be happy to teach you the basics of the software to allow you to post transactions and navigate through it. 
  • I need to be able to post some day to day transactions on my own and just have a bookkeeper maintain it, is this possible?  Absolutely!! 
  • I just started my business and don't have a software program, are you able to help me?  Yes, definitely.  Included in our services we will set your company up with our accounting system.
  • Am I able to access my company files in real time?  Yes, I will have your company set up so you have FULL access to view and post new transactions if need be.  Depending on how you would like your books kept I will either have an online version for you or I will access your files remotely so there is no concern that your files/books aren't up to date.
  • Are you able to offer discounts for purchasing QuickBooks if necessary? Yes, with being a Certified QuickBooks Advisor I am able to offer discounts for purchases of their software if necessary.
  • I have an accountant already, do I need a bookkeeper?  Yes, a bookkeeper is someone who handles the day to day transactions and reporting for your company.  Your accountant specializes in the preparation, reporting and analysis of your financial statements.  We work closely with your accountant to ensure that any tax saving recommendations are implemented and that your monthly, quarterly and annual filings are completed on time.
  • Are you able to come to my office to do bookkeeping?  Our preference is to work as remotely as possible as this allows us to keep fees to a minimum and work on multiple clients on the same day.  We are however able to arrange to come to your office as needed provided you are within a 30km radius of our office.  Outside of this range a fee will be charged for travel.
  • How do I provide you with all the required documents and everything needed to do my books?  You can provide us with the required documents via mail, courier, our secure online server, drop off if in range or if your office is located within 30km of our office pick up and delivery can be arranged if necessary.
  • What do you need to start doing my books?  We require a retainer, a signed engagement letter, bookkeeping checklist and a new client form be filled out.
  • Is there a retainer/deposit required to start?  Yes, we require a retainer of $500.00.
  • Is the retainer refundable?  No, it is not refundable.
  • I don't have a business but need my personal income tax return done....Do you prepare and file income tax returns for individuals and single families?  Yes, we are happy to prepare and file your income tax returns.
  • I haven't filed my taxes for a couple/multiple years....are you able to help me?  Yes!!
  • What are your qualifications and/or designations?  I have been a bookkeeper for over 25 years, accounting course in 1992, I am a member of the Institute of Professional Bookkeepers, CPB designation (Certified Professional Bookkeeper) and a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor.
  • Do you have any references?  Yes, references can be provided.
  • Do you have a place of business or do you work out of your home?  I work out of my home.
